Busyness

Goodness, life feels like it has been so busy this last week and I feel so far behind on EVERYTHING! I do have the kids Christmas shopping done and presents WRAPPED and that feels good to have done.

Yesterday we went out and got a Christmas tree. The kids and my husband and I all had a great time hiking around searching for one. We also took my nephew with us.

We hiked around this cool rock that looks pretty neat on this side.

and looks like a dragon head from the other side.  The kids thought that was really neat.

Striking a pose.

Enjoying the view.

I went for a run later in the day.  Running has not gone very well this week.  I got about 2 miles into my run yesterday and noticed my vision felt funny.  Ugh.  I tried to ignore it but I knew it meant a migraine was on the way.  I ran a little bit further and decided I better hurry and get home.  I did a total of 5 miles but really wanted to do at least 7.  I had a pretty good headache by the time I got done though so I didn't regret turning around.  Running isn't that fun when your head is pounding with every step.

I got a nap in when I got home and that seemed to help.  Migraines suck.  I am so glad I don't get them very often.  I know people that get them all the time and I do not envy that!

HOPEFULLY this next week goes better.

Have you entered to win a pair of Ryder's Eyewear yet?

Here is a picture of me in them yesterday before the migraine hit.  You can see how dark the photochromic lenses are here in the bright sunlight vs in the house as they were in this post.

There might be something else in that picture or actually two somethings that you will have a chance a winning also.  One is not my dog.  Think blue and in my shoe!

  10. Migraines do suck! I used to get them all the time, but the combination of a daily preventive medicine and running have brought them (almost) down to zero. Another benefit to running!

  12. Migraines are fun for no one. I used to get them a lot growing up and my sweet dad has had them as long as I can remember. I feel so bad for him.

  13. Cutting down your own Christmas tree will always make me think of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Hope your experience was nothing like it. ;)

  14. I used to get migraines but I have been lucky to only get regular headaches. Not sure what caused the change but no complaints here! If I would cut down my own Christmas tree here, it would end up being a cypress tree out of the swamp out of my backyard. Not exactly a Christmas tree! :) Your tree probably smells much better! I do like freshly cut trees. We would have to get one off of a lot.
