Monday Motivation Keep Pushing!

Saturday was perfect weather.  The kind of weather you know isn't going to stick around long in Montana in January.  True to form it did not.  It started snowing Sunday around noon and by nightfall we had about 4 inches of wet heavy snow on the ground, and the roads, and everything else.

Pretty, but cold.  and I really need to get my butt out there and run today.  I was lazy yesterday.

Okay not really lazy, I did do the first workout from the ZCUT series and the Ab Bonus which was really awesomely painful.  I kept thinking I would get my butt outside for an easy run...but I was sleepy.  So I took a nap.  A big nap.

My daughter climbed in bed with me and took a big nap too.  We slept the afternoon away.  Sometimes it is good to rest, I figured that was what my body needed after a fast tempo run Friday and an unplanned long run Saturday.

Today I have some intervals planned.  Not really my favorite, but I know they help so much and I want to be fast fast fast!

What are you doing to push yourself today?

  1. Sometimes an impromptu nap is awesome! My swim coach always said that if you felt like you at all would rather take a nap than do the workout than take the nap. It was hard for me to do that at first but it makes me feel so much better in the long run!

I miss Montana and all that snow!

  2. I love a good nap! Today is my rest day, after 7 hilly (and rainy) miles on Saturday and a leg workout at the gym yesterday. Good luck with your intervals; the will definitely make you speedy!

  3. Today I'm just hoping to get some good runs outside this wk. Last wk was elliptical and dvd not the most motivating for me.

  4. Well, I got myself out of bed early early for an easy run--first time I've done that in a while. I've still been getting up early for the hard ones, but I've been doing all my easy ones during the day at work. Alas, even the easy ones are starting to be too long for my work break--so it's back to 5 a.m. wake-ups most days.

Congrats on the nap! That sounds wonderful!

  5. Oooh, I'm a fan of interval and speed workouts! Love it. And I love MT weather. We got a bunch of snow too, but today the sun is out and warming things up again.

  8. I did a 10 miler with 6 X 800 intervals. It was ROUGH. Luckily, I fit it in before the snow and ice came, so now I'm sitting inside and it just looks pretty, not scary.

  11. My motivation has a direct correlation to the snow level. The more snow, the stronger my desire to stay inside. Good luck with the intervals.

  13. Stunning photos as always :) It looks so peaceful where you live. Naps are the best thing ever- why did they have to stop after kindergarten?!?
