National Running Day!

National Running Day, held annually on the first Wednesday in June, is a day when runners everywhere declare their passion for running. Wherever we are and whomever we’re with, we run—fast or slow, alone or with others, all over town or just around the block. It is a coast-to-coast celebration of a sport and activity that’s simple, inexpensive, and fun. It’s the perfect way for longtime runners to reaffirm their love of running and for beginners to kick off a lifetime and life-changing commitment.  (from the National Running Day website)

I haven't run much in the last month, but I am still excited about it, I am passionate about it!  There are so many reasons to run, I don't know that I will have a chance to run today, between work and helping my husband get our cows AId (artificially inseminated) (try explaining that to kids by the way) after work.  I may have to get in a belated run tomorrow.

Pretty sure this guy is hoping we go for a run too.

This picture is one of my favorite running pictures.  I see the finish line and just looking at the picture I can feel the energy, the movement.. makes me want to run.  Makes me happy.
I am feeling like my injury time is coming to an end and am working on a new plan for the rest of the year.  I know at least the first part of June, probably all of June will be low miles, and easy miles.  I am okay with that.  Maybe I will even recharge my Garmin in another couple of weeks, but for now I just want no pressure and to just enjoy each run and to LISTEN to my body.

If you are bored head over to nationalrunningday.org and check out their 10 ways to celebrate today.

Happy National Running Day!

  2. I love that picture of you!!! I thought of you this morning thinking about running. I know this is a hard time to not have it. I'll run some miles for you today...probably not as fast as you can but some seaside miles for my rancher friend!!

  3. Bungee's been chomping at the bit to get a run in, too! She'll be running on national running day, but it looks like I'll just be rollerblading.

  4. I hope you and Mr Cola dog get to run a bit. He looks annoyed in that photo (or the sun is in his eyes ) so happy to hear this injury is healing up!

  9. You're the only person I know who might not be able to run because you're too busy knocking up a bunch of cows. :)
