I've had worse weeks, and let's talk about some beef.

Sunday             3 mile run
                         30 minutes elliptical
Monday            25 minute HIIT workout
                         80 burpees
                         40 minutes yoga
Tuesday           Rest Day
Wednesday     Woke up and my lower back was pissed about something.  Walking is fine, but
bending over is NOT, even sitting is uncomfortable. WTF
75 minutes elliptical because it actually felt great while doing it.
Thursday         80 minutes elliptical, but back is not a lot better
                         15 minutes easy yoga
Friday             Rest day, except I had to work with bad back.
Saturday          80 minutes elliptical

My back it slowly getting better but I am starting to think I ought to go and have it cracked at the chiropractor.  I am tired of feeling like an old lady already.

Run  3 miles
Strength Workouts 1
Yoga 2
Elliptical a lot.  Grateful for my elliptical this week for sure!
Burpees 280/1000 and that might be all it gets to with my old lady back. Boo, but there is still a lot of month left!

Since I am part of Team Beef Montana I also like to throw out some beef facts from time to time.
I am sure if you by now have heard the claims the grass fed beef is so much healthier than grain fed/grain finished beef.  The Paleo experts all tout it as so much better, of course it is also pricier and harder to find.  You can rest easy though if you don't feel like forking over so much for it a recent very scientific study concluded
So, at this point, there is no scientific evidence to support the claims that ground beef from grass-fed cattle is a healthier alternative to ground beef from conventionally raised, grain-fed cattle. source
Not only is grass fed grass finished beef harder to find and more expensive it requires more natural resources and is harder to sustain.

One of the big things grass fed proponents claim is that grass fed is higher in Omega-3s, but as you can see the difference is very low, and the levels are low in both.

If you are concerned about getting your 1.1g a day for women and 1.6g a day for men that is recommended you are better off getting it from other sources like walnuts and flax.

Grain fed ground beef is also higher in oleic acid which helps decrease LDL levels (bad cholesterol) and increases HDL levels (good cholesterol).

This study did not address claims that grass fed has higher levels of anitoxidants and vitamins A and E, beta carotene and trace minerals. Bottom line though if you are wanting to eat grass fed meat for the fat profile, you don't have to feel bad about eating grain fed.

  7. Sounds like a chiropractor is in need. In reference to beef, my fiance would love you. He is a corn and soybean farmer, but at one point they raised cattle so when I was talking to him about grass-fed, he schooled me really fast. :-)
