I'm indifferent about the electoral college. I think there's only been a couple occasions where the electoral college elected someone who didn't win the popular vote. But regardless of the details, I'm so thankful today to have been able to vote. And to stand in line to vote with my friends and neighbors. It's a wonderful thing. And, I ran to the polls--got my run in while doing my civic duty! Well, everything is counted eventually, but there's no rush to count absentee unless it's close.

I think the Founding Fathers were rather genius in setting up the Electoral College. It does make sense once you really learn about it. At least he has to drop off his and mine is laying on top of his on the counter. But you never knew....:-)
I am honestly just glad that today is election day so that I don't have to delete 90% of my facebook friends. The Founding Fathers thought it would settle the argument between big states and small states back when they were debating the Constitution. States with less population were worried that they would have no voice whatsoever in the election, so the Electoral College was made to make it somewhat equaller. It also flowed with the idea that many people still favored states rights at this time. Also, the general feeling was that the overall population wasn't educated enough to completely make such a large decision themselves. Sorry for the mini-lesson, I'm a History teacher.. haha

I also like your absentee ballot idea!!Mrs. C.https://www.blogger.com/profile/14300808092706844459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6993815500672701308.post-4257281443413286122012-11-06T06:01:04.566-07:002012-11-06T06:01:04.566-07:00I was just about to go out and vote.
