I actually started reading your blog leading up to *your* first. I was excited to see how it went for you.
I'm then supposed to run a 1/2, the following month. Your current experience isn't terrible encouraging...;)
I'm sorry it's taking you so long to get back to your old running self. That must be really, really frustrating. It sounds like you're doing everything right, though. It'll happen...jaylohhttp://www.runningmovesme.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6993815500672701308.post-26398546284796114102012-08-12T11:20:27.427-06:002012-08-12T11:20:27.427-06:00I don't think you are being whiny. And going to the physical therapist isn't a bad idea either. Just hang in there. Do what you can. Adjust the expectations a little. And meanwhile, you have all of us here to vent, rant or whatever you need. The running/blogging community is a supportive and sympathetic bunch. :)Christinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06380933058410866261noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6993815500672701308.post-64594148961792279362012-08-12T10:06:55.583-06:002012-08-12T10:06:55.583-06:00I feel your pain, my 7 mile run yesterday was so f...I feel your pain, my 7 mile run yesterday was so frustrating. I couldn't get my breathing or running in a good rhythm and I just kept wanting to stop and walk, it was not fun! I ...I don't think you are being whinny at all! I totally understand how you feel and not being 100% with your running can really gets you down. It is good thing that you have slowed the runs down and are going to see a PT. I am sure they will be able to help you and you will be back to normal in no time. Rocky is so cute and he is so lucky to have found you to take care of him. I love animals and I am so happy that you have such a kind heart to take care of him :)Boston Bound Brunettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15617670777384752810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6993815500672701308.post-12605635205218939702012-08-11T15:26:33.617-06:002012-08-11T15:26:33.617-06:00Cute kitty! There was some things that happened with the girls I trained with but overall it was just me and my funky runs. I ran another half and then took time off (granted I got pregnant with my first but still). Coming back, my spark was back! I think you're doing the right thing...your running spark will be back in no time!fancy nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11645116527352135569noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6993815500672701308.post-50024902816993102952012-08-11T12:31:25.416-06:002012-08-11T12:31:25.416-06:00I don't think you are being whiny... And since it WAS your first marathon, that is to be expected - how could you really KNOW what to expect? Be patient with yoursel, hard as it is, and it will happen for you.

I love that you are taking such good care of Rocky. Just read that paragraph and showed the pic to The Captain, who is also so impressed by your kind care to the sweet wee kitten.

Hope you are having a great Saturday!Ellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01340601848402239435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6993815500672701308.post-15714639509962693972012-08-11T11:33:30.855-06:002012-08-11T11:33:30.855-06:00I felt the same way after my first marathon in Jun...I felt the same way after my first marathon in June. It took me about 4 weeks to start feeling good running again. I struggled more with the mental aspect ~ "I just ran 26.2 miles, why can't I run 3?" Now I'm trying to recover from a self-inflicted injury from trying to do a cartwheel!Kathy McElhaneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03999643341879464989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6993815500672701308.post-58775865957866519562012-08-11T11:32:27.581-06:002012-08-11T11:32:27.581-06:00You're such a good kitty mommy. :) I'm s...You're such a good kitty mommy. :) I'm so happy you're doing that for her. Started running for the first time in my life a little over 3 years ago, right before I got to goal.

I ran my first half marathon last October, another in the spring, first one on hills, and have run a few other famous races in this area (Philadelphia). I have recently registered for my first ever marathon in November and into training now.

I have read a lot about after the marathon and what you're blogging about is exactly what I have been reading. In fact, one friend that I blog with is a few months off of her first marathon, and she's still feeling this way.

I am expecting that by the time I finish, I will be pretty beat up, and although mentally, I want to run and enjoy it, physically, I may not be able to.

Hang in there. You'll get it back. It will come.

P.S. LOVE reading your blog.Reenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13135195331075251471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6993815500672701308.post-56552322483401069582012-08-11T10:39:24.422-06:002012-08-11T10:39:24.422-06:00I feel like I could have written this post (no kit...I feel like I could have written this post (no kitten, but yours is super cute!!!)
