I had to sort through thousands of pictures to find all of mine, but I think i finally did and here are most of them, the good, the bad, and the funny!
I think in this one I was feeling pretty crappy, but I don't think I had vomited yet. Something I am starting to notice about ALL my racing pictures is that I tend to run with my fingers curled and my thumb up.
It looks like I am about to give a big ol thumbs up in every picture.
This one was at the end and I felt about as good as I looked.
There were a bunch here at the end and I look like I am in pain and about to cry in all of them. A) I was in pain, my quads were cramping up very tight. B) I was about to cry. I was so emotional!
and DONE! WOO-HOO I did it!
Here is the funny picture. 26.2 miles, 3 hours 56 minutes and 55 seconds of racing. I got out my phone with three miles left to give my mom a heads up since she had the kids and I get busted by the photographer. (note the thumb in the thumbs up position)
Finishers photos with the kids and my darling niece.
Have you ever been had your photo taken during a race doing something un-race like?
Woohoo! That's funny you were busted on your phone!!! Awesome job!ReplyDelete
I love that there's a picture of you on your phone while running a marathon!! I haven't been caught in photos, but I did once call my husband during a race to let him know I was one mile out :)ReplyDelete
I love them all and I would buy them all if I was you!ReplyDelete
LOVE your cell pic. Too funny you were busted! Great pics.ReplyDelete
Awesome Pics! I dig the thumbs up. I think you look great and super strong in all your pictures. LOVE the one with the kids!ReplyDelete
Yeah! Sub 4 hours with a funny picture? Success!ReplyDelete
That picture of you running with your cell phone is epic- very hilarious! I also really liked the first picture because you look fantastic and you do look like you love running. I would frame that one for sure!ReplyDelete
I was taking off my shirt during a 1/2 marathon early this past June, and my husband saw the photographer getting "evidence". That event still hasn't posted pictures (that I know of!).ReplyDelete
Very cool pictures overall! Unintentional thumbs up is better than thumbs down!
You look so strong in your photos Christy!! Gosh I'm still so excited about you being a marathoner, loved seeing the photo of you crossing the finish line :)ReplyDelete
I love how the pictures always tell the true story! The cell pic is hilarious!ReplyDelete
Awesome job!!! I love all the pictures! EricaReplyDelete
Congratulations again on finishing your 1st Marathon! Love the pictures. When I see the phone shot it gave me a whole new idea about ordering pizza at mile 23 so it can be delivered hot to the finish line. Great photos!ReplyDelete
Love all the pics:) So funny, at my RRCA class yesterday the instructor was talking about running with thumbs up:) I think I do it sometimes too. Your phone pic makes your marathon look effortless:) Nice work!ReplyDelete
I think your photo's are great!!! Congrats!!ReplyDelete
love ALL these pics! the phone one is AWESOME! LOLReplyDelete
Congrats on your race! I love the cell phone picture. Hilarious.ReplyDelete
You've got some amazingly muscular legs. The pictures look great.
Congratulations again! You totally earned the Tough Chick label. You did great.
Congrats on finishing a marathon! What a feat!ReplyDelete
My favorite picture is the first one. You looked great and the background is just beautiful.
Love the "thumbs up" gesture you have in almost all the pictures too.
And do you just stare at your arms and legs? They have some nice muscle definition! :)
oh my gosh, love all the photos, even the one where you look like you're going to cry because you just look so tough and determined in all of them. Even the phone one you look like you're calling someone to say, "i'm going to kick this marathon's ass!" Congrats again!!ReplyDelete
I think the photos turned out great! You have to frame that cell phone one :)ReplyDelete
Hahaha! You have to order the cell phone pick! That is hilarious! I run like that too. I've tried to change it, but I figure, if it works, it works.ReplyDelete
Ha! I am always impressed by people talking on their phones while running a race! Great photos!!!ReplyDelete
hahaha I love the phone one :) and YAY!!! ....I've never had a weird pic at a race....yet. We'll seeReplyDelete
Love the pics!! I wonder what the photographer thought. Man she must be feeling great if she is running and on the phone!ReplyDelete
Never talked on the phone during a race but I've done it on other runs. I always wonder what other people think when they see me doing it! Your pics are great compared to how mine normally turn out.ReplyDelete
Great pics, the cell phone one is hilarious, lol. Funny about the fingers curled thing, I think I do the same thing I realize. Maybe it's a runner thing or just a habit? I didn't know that I did that either til I saw myself in photos doing it in almost every one.ReplyDelete
And it is hard to view pics of when you are struggling, though running isn't always pretty. Even the elites sometimes have trouble and break down - one example I think of is Paula Radcliffe in the 2004 Olympic Marathon, she seemed dehydrated, and dropped out at mile 20 or so.
Great pics! The first one is quite lovely with the scenery in the background. I don't see where you are struggling in any of the photos, you look like a determined focused athlete in all of them :)ReplyDelete
The last one with the kids is my favorite.ReplyDelete
Ha! Love the pic of you on the phone :). I know you were feeling crappy at the end, but you really look great in all of your pictures!ReplyDelete
I think you look really good in ALL these pictures... could never tell you were not feeling well, at all!ReplyDelete
I seem to run with my hands like that too! Love the green and purple shoe/sock combo! Congrats on your sub 4!ReplyDelete
THUMBS UP! Great photos. Mine are usually of me looking very tired. I found out that I run with my mouth open and my right pinky sticking out. Weird. Hey, whatever gets it done! Funny that you got caught with your phone!ReplyDelete
These are such great pics! I love the first one too! You look so settled and the water in the background really sets it off!ReplyDelete
I once called my friend at mile 18 from my phone for moral support. I cried and then kept running. It was good to hear the voice of my training partner when I needed it! :)
Love the pictures, you look incredible and so focused. Except for the one on the phone...hahah, that just made me smile :).ReplyDelete
I am proud of the strong, capable, beautiful woman in all of these pics! Rock ON!ReplyDelete
These are great pictures! Your legs look so strong in all of them.ReplyDelete
