First of all thanks for all the supportive comments in yesterdays post. It really means a lot to me. I know we are already 6 days into March but I still wanted to get this done.
Miles run: 150
Total for the year 306
Longest Run 17 miles
It was a really busy month with the first week being consumed by federal jury duty and a week of the kids and I being sick, and my little sister being here for the month. I am a little surprised I managed to get in that many miles with all that went on.
and how am I doing with my goals for the year?
1. Drink more water: I am doing a lot better at work, but don't seem to do very good at home. I think it is just the weather being cold maybe? I can walk around cleaning the house and think "I'm thirsty" but then I just do and do something else, like getting a glass of water is such a big chore or something.
2. Wear more sunscreen: I still have so much room for improvement here. I think adding a bottle of sunscreen to my running gear bag will help.
3.Run 1500 miles this year (about 125 a month or 28 a week) Mileage for the month is..150. This is my second highest mileage in a month ever. I think if I would not have had jury duty and been sick it would have been even higher.
4. Eat less sugar: I have been doing better here. I cut it out for Lent. Or at least I am trying to. I was doing great until my husband brought home a bag of Nibs.
5. Run Faster. I have added speed workouts in again and am feeling really good about them.
6.Read the kids a bedtime story every night. Done except for the times they fall asleep on the couch early.
7.Keep running clothes in my car so when the opportunity presents itself I can knock out a quick run. This added up to an extra 14 miles again in February.
On a totally different note, I took my son into the pediatrician yesterday for his kindergarten checkup. He did so great and had to have three more shots. Seems like a lot of shots. Afterwards we took him to Dairy Queen for ice cream. YUM. I had the mint oreo blizzard.
You had an awesome month with your mileage!!! You are well on your way to reaching 1500!!! I would LOVE a Blizzard for getting shots!!ReplyDelete
What a great month! And in only 29 days...you will be amazing this month, I know it! :)ReplyDelete
wow that's far! Amazing and with only 29 days in that month. That's fantastic.ReplyDelete
Great mileage, you're doing awesome on your goals. I love that you keep your gear in the car, that is a great idea.ReplyDelete
Oh man, I need to eat less sugar. It won't happen, but I should try.ReplyDelete
I love DQ!!!! It was all we had in the closest town to where I grew up. Do you remember when they used to have Breeze's? I always used to get the Hawaiian one. Now I want DQ and its not even 6:30 am, haha.ReplyDelete
wow 150 miles in the shortest month of the year, impressive.ReplyDelete
After this past weekends sunburn debacle, I need to add to my goals to wear more as well!
You are such an inspiration!!!!ReplyDelete
And I love DQ mint blizzards. But I'm on a no sugar kick and will wait a few months ...then they'll be gone. sigh.
I'm off to the barn...we're calving!
Thank you for your great blog.
Wow, great month! That Blizzard looks so yummy. I have had no sweets in March and was really craving something last night. I almost gave in to temptation, but I held strong:) Good idea keeping your running clothes in the car!ReplyDelete
Great month!! You really rocked it!ReplyDelete
Fabulous month, C.!!!! If I got get a shot will you buy me a blizzard? lolReplyDelete

You are on a roll for the year already!!!ReplyDelete
I love that you got 14 extra miles just from having the clothes in your car! And the Blizzard looks so good!ReplyDelete
you were sick for a whole week? uugh, not what i wanted to hear right now as i just came down with the flu yesterday and feel like hell right now. thought i was getting better for a bit today, but that was just a tease.ReplyDelete
you'll get those miles this month!
Now I want this blizzard!ReplyDelete
First up, your legs in the last post look amazing! Super muscular & fit. Second of all, you won my giveaway, so email me your address so I can get your treats sent off to you. :-)ReplyDelete
Also, nice work with your February goals. . . and, that blizzard looks amazing. :-)
Good for you on getting some good miles in Feb. That is usually a hard month to get alot of miles with out all the snow. This winter has been great for running. But you know me I still want some warmer weather. Low to night is in the 50. I cant wait to run in the morning. Shorts baby here they come.ReplyDelete
I have been craving a Blizzard for like 5 days and I keep holding out. I should probably just give in, huh? Great job in February!!ReplyDelete
Some how I don't think the mint oreo blizzard and goal #4 go together - ha :) Sounds like a pretty good month overall!!ReplyDelete
Great month, Christy!ReplyDelete
My kids just had their 5-YO shots too. The doc's office had told me there would be *four* shots each, and I was so stressed about it that I made Dan come with me. In the end, there were only two shots each (they did some combos), Ruthie cried for 10 seconds and Will actually *laughed*--he said it "tickled." I was glad that aren't as wimpy as I was at their age. I still took them out to lunch afterwards. I'm glad your little guy did well, too. :^)
P.S. I'm still doing well on the no-sugar Lent, but it's easy for me because I take Sundays "off." This past Sunday I enjoyed bread pudding and part of a co-worker's Nestle Crunch bar. :^)ReplyDelete
Great mileage! That is a lot! I can't remember getting shots, but I always like ice cream!ReplyDelete
Great month, that's some impressive mileage! And a 17 mile run, that's amazing that you pulled off such a great long run and you're not even currently training for a marathon, that's truly impressive!ReplyDelete
Awesome mileage total! I really should keep my running bag with me at all times, that is a great idea.ReplyDelete
Great month! Nice job!ReplyDelete
that is the most Yummy blizzard DQ makes...my mouth is watering right now...the only thing stopping me from going was looking at that pic of your ridiculously ripped legs...I'm so freaking jealous...ReplyDelete
Awesome run...way to go:)
