I rolled out the door this morning a full 20 minutes before sunrise. I was sticking to a route super close to home doing quarter mile out and backs. Boring, I know especially for 5 miles. I did this because a mountain lion was spotted a half a mile from my house yesterday morning right after my run/bike session. I am not impressed with the whole mountain lion in my backyard thing.
I wonder if that explains the missing kitten..
I did have another great sunrise this morning though. Helped alleviate the out and back boredom.
Stopping to take pictures of the sky and horses every once in awhile helped too. I threw in some strides for good measure every half mile also.
Not a sunrise, but a very fiery sunset.
What has been motivating you lately?
Beautiful photos - that definitely helps to break up the boredom!ReplyDelete
I love the pictures! I think the fact that I can run again keeps me motivated since I was out of the running scene for a few months! Every time I get lazy to run, I have to remind myself of what life was like at the beginning of this year and then out the door I go!ReplyDelete
Beautiful pics of the sunrise and sunset.ReplyDelete
Make sure you vary your routine- mountain lions learn these things. Not to freak you out any more than you might be already (those critters are my biggest fear ever, even though I live in Indiana). EEK!ReplyDelete
But those morning views truly are gorgeous! As is the sunset. Just beautiful.
I love how you sneakily put the missing kitten in there! Geez.ReplyDelete
Yeah, I think I'd stick close to home no matter how boring the route if there were mountain lions around!
Sneaky mountain lions! I think those scare me more than bears for some reason!ReplyDelete
You have way more patience than I do. Running the same route ten times!? You must have the patience of a saint.ReplyDelete
I'm having a really difficult time getting up early to run. I really really want to, but it hasn't happened yet. What's your secret?
Oh and also, I think running a half mile out-and-backs with a mountain lion on the loose would be awesome motivation to be speedy!ReplyDelete
Love the photos! They turned out really well. I think if there was a mountain lion near my running route my mile splits would suddenly be a lot faster than they normally are. ;) Glad you were able to get your runs in despite the danger.ReplyDelete
Those photos are gorgeous! That sunrise would certainly get me out of bed in the morning.ReplyDelete
Oh noo! Poor kitten :(
I'm definitely not a fan of animals that can attack while out on a run. Mountain lions sound scary. I just have to deal with Angry black birds and people in Chicago.
Poor kitten!!!!! I don't think I would like a mountain lion in my backyard or anywhere close to it. EEEEK.ReplyDelete
I love your sunrises! They are just beautiful! They would certainly motivate me to run in the morning!ReplyDelete
Nice! I am also motivated by beautiful views. I try to keep it exciting by changing up the route from time to time as well!ReplyDelete
What a joyous sunrise! I'm excited to get past this move and get back into a morning running routine.ReplyDelete
Love the pictures! But yikes about the mountain lion!!ReplyDelete
Wow! Those are some beautiful pictures! Makes my trail look plain! Very nice!ReplyDelete
Ooh, mountain lion reports scare me, too! Those are beautiful pictures, though. Motivating me is the idea that I might be able to start really training again soon (at least I'm hoping that's what I hear after tomorrow's doctor appointment). I run at dawn also, and I love how I feel when I am finished!ReplyDelete
Where you live is so pretty! My main motivation is getting outside before it gets too hot :)ReplyDelete
Those are beautiful photos, you live in an amazing area for running!ReplyDelete
Oh no, poor kitten, but you're probably right.ReplyDelete
Gorgeous scenery as usual. Glad you were able to stay away from the mountain lion and the heat.
