10 Ways to Modify the Basic Pushup

Last week Blonde Ponytail did a great vlog on 10 pushup variations and it got me thinking about all the different kinds of pushups I incorporate into my workouts.  I managed to come up with 10 more plus a bonus move to share with you today.

It is my first vlog so sorry if I seem all akward and don't know how to talk.  HA! Not only that, it took me a lot of takes to get one I liked well enough to post so my arms were starting to get tired.

1. Reptile Pushups
2. Legs Elevated Pushup
3. Sumo Pushup
4. Walking Pushup
5. Alernating Legs Crossed Pushup
6. Diamond Pushup
7. Narrow Tricep Pushps
8. Wide Arms Pushup
9. 1, 2 3, Pushup
10. Diagonal Knee Tuck Pushup
Bonus Move:  One Arm Press ups

As a total side note.  I did my longest run today since my marathon on July 8th.  13.2 miles.  YAY.  Felt pretty good.  I made sure to start out slow and keep my long run pace above 9 minute miles until the last three.

Thanks for all the great relay packing advice on comments on my post about the wall yesterday!

What is your favorite upper body exercise?

I also really like dive bombers.

  1. You are adorable! I love how you're like, "Wouldn't that be embarrassing if my laundry basket capsized because I was too heavy?" Totally made me laugh.

PS You are a beast with the pushups!!

  2. This is great Christy!! You should do more!! By the way, when does your team start H2C?? We begin around 2:15 p.m. I think!!

  3. Good grief, that was AMAZING! You are so strong! I can barely do REAL pushups. But I think everyone has got to see this so I am tweeting it!

  4. Ooh, I'm definitely going to have to try some of these. I really need to work on my upper body strength. Thanks for the tips! :)

  5. I like these variations (and BodyRock is awesome too!). Video was cute - LOL at the reasons for the takes. I have a hard time believing you looked fat haha.

  6. Woohoo for the longest run since your marathon! I think my favorite upper body exercise is plank. It hurts so good when I actually am doing one with good form.

  7. Dude, I'd trade you booties any day. Great video and danggg you be rockin' the upper body strength! Impressed!

  8. Dang, girl! You're ripped! Push-ups are my least favorite exercise. But, seeing your strength makes me think that I should probably do a few more!

  9. You did not call yourself a woos! I'm not sure how that's actually spelled. You are awesome. Great video!

  10. Cristy, you've done great as a first blogger! So, chill!! Well, I've a big problem of having too fatty upper portion of the hand which is odd to see and I want reduce it soon so please give me any useful tips to turn it my desired shape. I'm waiting for it. Thanks!

  11. Dang, you are strong! I can barely push myself out of the recliner! It must be the Rancher in ya!!

  12. You are a rockstar for sure! Actually - my husband was in awe of the push ups you knocked out as well and calls you the Push Up Queen. Truly inspirational!!! & because of that - I tagged you!

  13. I loved your vlog. Allan and I watched it together and he picked up a couple that he's going to try. When he saw the 10th one all he said was "I bet that kills your core." Needless to say I was also impressed your push up variations!

  14. Love them all! My bootcampers dread one arm press up days :D

Because I love hearing from you all!
