iPods can survive the washing machine

Yesterday I ran an easy 8 miles with a big steak on my shirt.  Good think I couldn't see it as I was running or I think it would have made me even hungrier than I was when I got home.

I love when I get home and get greeted by one or more kids running out to meet me.  She dressed herself in case you were wondering. This is one speedy little girl by the way. I think she is going to be a track star.
as I side note, we could sure use some RAIN, my lawn looks so sad, it is starting to green up but not very fast and we don't water this part of the lawn.

After my run, I grabbed the kids and another older cousin and we headed out for a hike since it was a day off from school day.  The kids had a great time running through the hills exploring and playing hide and seek.  My daughter ended up sleeping away the rest of the afternoon. She needed it!

In other news I managed to wash throw my iPod in the washing machine, I remembered that it had been in the pocket of my Handful bra too late, I dug all the clothes out and there it was sitting in the bottom all sad and wet.

I put it in a bowl of kitty litter (clean kitty litter) for 12 hours and then put it on a heat vent for 24 hours.  and works great!  so relieved, those toys aren't very cheap!

After the run and the hike yesterday I still managed to fit in  ZWOW 59 and then a HIIT workout with my husband that left us both wiped.  Lucky for me today is a REST day, except I do have to go to work..boo.

I also discovered you can sign up to recieve a Spartan WOD on the Spartan Race website.  So far I haven't done any of them.  Todays looks pretty tough.  Maybe tomorrow..
50 burpees is a lot of burpees!  I do like a challenge though..

How was your Monday? ever washed your iPod?

  1. I've never washed my ipod, but my phone went through the wash once. It didn't survive.

How warm is it there that you can run in a tank???

  2. I dropped my iPhone in the toilet a few months back, and turns out, rice works the same as kitty litter :) Although, I'm still waiting for the day when it just quits working because I shorted something out!

  3. I get spartan wod emails and I always delete them lol... I don't even open them. Terrible, I know, but really they are terrifying lol.

  4. Yikes about your Ipod, glad that it still works! Never heard of using kitty litter before, but I have seen rice used. My Monday was kind of craptastic, but I feel like that is the norm for me at the beginning of the week. At least I will end it on vacation mode for 5 days. :-)

  5. My wife washed her iPod... ya, no amount of rice, kitty litter or heat could bring that sucker back from the dead. Glad your's was saved.

  6. I like to add components of the Spartan WOD to whatever I'm doing that day. Today, I'll add some lunges between our group speed work.
    Never washed an iPod (yet).
I still love that beef jersey!

  7. My iPod has survived many rain storms, when I used to not hide it under my running skirt. I have a "time out" bag of rice I keep around just in case I mess up again. Congrats on saving yours! It doesn't always workout.

Oh, and those Spartan WODs-- wow, no way.

  8. You are amazing! I can not believe you did all of that in one day. How do you find the time?
Never washed my ipod, I would be devastated if I did though and it didn't work. I will remember your tricks though, heaven forbid I do wash it :)
    Happy Tuesday!

  10. 50 burpees?!! I only did 10 yesterday and I had to break it into 2 sets of 5! lol...
So glad your ipod made it! That would've been a sad day if you couldn't have revived it!! I've never had that happen with electronics (knock on wood), but i have done it with money, a pen, and a magnet that ended up stretching out the shirt it was on... whoops!

  11. I dropped my cell phone in the pool during a swimming lesson, & it pretty much came back to life, although the camera wasn't very good after that. So glad your iPod survived!

  16. you are extremely lucky that your ipod is back up and running again. What kind of handful bra do you use that yours has a pocket?? I have to be in the mood for burpees. One of the blogs I followed- petite athleat, did 1 mile, 4 laps, around the track of straight up burpees last year... think it took her 2 hours or something. I'm pretty sure I will NEVER be in the mood for that.

  19. I went swimming with an iphone once. I left it in rice for a week, but sadly it didn't come back to life :( Excited to hear that yours did survive and maybe (hopefully there will never be a next time) I'll try kitty litter instead.

  21. I've washed a few ipods..one in a top loader that did not make it, and another in my front loader that did survive. My Monday sucked! It was back to school after spring break for me :-/

  22. I dropped my phone in the stool before, and then put it in a bowl of rice for two days. It came back completely except for the #7 or something like that, so I could still call almost everyone.

More pics of running jerseys with steaks please, except don't ever run in front of me in a race with that thing on. If I'm delirious enough I might chase you with some A1 and a knife.

  25. Never washed my Ipod....but I did wash a cell phone once. We had a burial service immediately following.

It's still FREEZING here. Snow on the ground. I'm OVER winter. By the time it ends, winter will be back again.
