Because Race Pictures are so flattering
These first 5 pictures are from the Heart and Sole 10k I ran over a month ago. I just forgot they would be posted on line. I also discovered that I was not really 2nd in my age group, I WON my age group. The bibs were messed up on the girl who won and another girl who really was behind me by 15 minutes. When they finally straightened out the whole mess they never told us. So I have somebody else's 2nd place medal and someone has my first place medal. I am going to see if I can get that all corrected. I think I look pretty tired in this picture. Probably is the case. It was one of those days that I just didn't feel "on". It seemed like the whole race was more work than it should have been. Do you have races or even workouts like that? I know I do!
Apparently I also run with my mouth open a lot. Maybe that explains why I feel like I am always eating a bug.
Totally hamming it up here for the photographer. I was feeling great, so happy to be running and this was definitely an "on" day. These next three are from the State Games Half Marathon I ran Saturday. They were posted today.
My shoes are Saucony Fastwitch 4′s they are awesome and fast!

You are supposed to look like you're working! Would you rather look all fresh and 'pretty' and be slow as s***? lolReplyDelete
And you look great in your photos anyway :)
Great pics! Love that you're smiling. I can never remember to put on my "happy" face when I see the camera. I usually have the "what mile marker am I at" look going on! Congrats on the 1st place finish in your age group. Medal or not, you know that you came in 1st! WTG!ReplyDelete
Cute race outfit!ReplyDelete
Your race pics are a lot better than mine!!!ReplyDelete
ahh race pics....usually I find maybe 1 I like and most I hate. my hands look weird when I run...also after loosing over 70 lbs and being over 40 I sometimes have pics where instead of muscles action I see loose skin action...not pretty...ReplyDelete
yours I like them! I like the 2 thumbs up because it looks like you just passed a guy #719 he looks in pain there!! that is always good right?
I can definitely tell from the pictures which race you enjoyed more! :)ReplyDelete
You look great in all of them as usual though. Your body is just rocking. We need to know all of your secrets asap!
I think you look amazing in all of these photos! So svelt!ReplyDelete
COngrats on the win AND you look like a winning runner in these pics!!ReplyDelete
Oh wow, congrats! I love the photos specially the thumbs up! Tell me more about the shoes!ReplyDelete
Congrats on placing 1st! I usually look angry in my pictures. I will try to smile more. I also have been known to swallow a fly or two because of the same reason! LOL!ReplyDelete
The pictures are great!! You make it look easy!! And yes I have had races that are way more difficult than usual. Weather is a big part of it for me!!!ReplyDelete
Your race pictures are so great! Mine are always seriously tragic :)ReplyDelete
Awesome pics! I swear half of the race photogs we get up here aren't even checking to see if runners are in the shot when they press the shutter...serious bad pics. My last half had a private photog and she did such an amazing job - the pics almost looked artsy! and I had no problem plunking down the mere $10 she was charging for the digital copies :)ReplyDelete
Nice pics!!! And congrats on winning your age group (even though they messed it up).ReplyDelete
Great pics and congrats on the win!!!ReplyDelete
Just wanted to let you know I got your package in the mail today! Thank you so so so much! I love the one with the crown :) It is my fav!
Great pics! Totally win the "Flattering Race Pics" Award!ReplyDelete
Saw your guest post about cross training over at Vanessa's. Impressive!
I'd say the last three pics are pretty awesome...... Those pesky photographers are trained in the art of unflattering photos!!ReplyDelete
you look GREAT! Hey I have no race photos because I look awful.. I still can't believe I posted pics of me in a wetsuit! I must have been drinking.ReplyDelete
I love that blue running skirt! I want one!!!ReplyDelete
Those are great pics! I always hate mine because I have big thighs...or at least I think I do ;)
I think you look awesome! :)ReplyDelete
I love the thumbs up!ReplyDelete
I never ever ever look good in race pictures! But you look awesome! Check out those guns!ReplyDelete
i LOVE that you're smiling in those pics too! You look so darn cute when you run!ReplyDelete
I love your guest post on gourmet runner. I can't wait to give bodyrock a try. Can you share how you made your "sandbag"? Thanks!ReplyDelete
Those are awesome race pics! You have some seriously toned arms, too. Care to share your secret??ReplyDelete
Oh i've definitely had those "off" days... a lot. :) But i love how happy you look in those last pictures!ReplyDelete
dude you totally have great pics!! my hair is usually all afro crazy and i look like 30lbs heavier for some odd reasonReplyDelete
You look great in those pics!ReplyDelete
Great pics! I always try to smile, but I kind of wish they'd put all race photographers just after the starting line - you know - before we get tired!ReplyDelete
Congrats on winning your age group!
I bet we all have lots of gaping-mouth running photos. I know I certainly do!ReplyDelete
I once read about a runner who would touch up her lipstick mid-marathon to ensure her photos came out OK... Personally I think that's the wrong priority in a race. (Which could explain my deranged-look/frizzy-hair photo history...) But to each their own! ;)
CONGRATS on really actually winning 1st place!ReplyDelete
And I have seen the Saucony Fasttwitches, they're really good looking. And they have them in Neon Green! (Yes, that's a proper noun, haha).
